About Dene Iwanicki

For many years I have run a mental health focussed private practice in southern Adelaide, working from GP surgeries and specialist rooms. I see people for depression, anxiety, other mental health disorders, pain and chronic condition management as well as other issues, and am honoured to have been part of making changes for the better in people's lives. In the past I have also worked in various mental health services in SA and the UK in roles across community teams and projects.

In my career I've been proud to have been active in progressing mental health oriented OT services, having had presence on many advisory groups for national developments in both OT and mental health areas. I am an active OT Association member, for many years on the National Mental Health Reference Group for OT Australia, and previously held the role of the Professional Advisor for the OTC for many years, helping support clinicians in their move to working in Australia from overseas.

Sometimes my dog Bingo joins me in Clinic sessions, but only with your permission and if he's feeling up to it.

I was born in and currently live in Adelaide and am proud of my family's migrant history. I respect the lived and recounted histories of humans across the globe, whoever you are and wherever you have been but particularly give respect to original custodians and people of the lands on which I and we all work and play. I support ecological efforts to keep our world and its flora and fauna thriving. I actively support efforts to stand up to gender based violence and support related services and prevention programs.
