Meeting our professional, legal, and funding compliance obligations (such as Medicare or NDIS requirements).
3. How We Protect and Store Your Information
We take the security of your data seriously. Your information is protected through the following measures:

Secure Storage: Digital records are stored in encrypted, password-protected practice management software that complies with Australian cyber security standards. Additional notes are uploaded into this system. Any physical files are kept in locked storage.

Restricted Access: Only authorized staff members directly involved in your care or administration can access your records. All staff are required to comply with privacy and security policies regarding any information pertaining to you.

Data Retention: We retain your records for the legally required period — generally 7 years for adults, or until a minor turns 25. After this time, records are securely destroyed or permanently de-identified.
4. When Your Information is Disclosed
Your information and session content remains strictly confidential. We will only disclose your information outside our practice under the following circumstances:

With Your Consent: When sharing updates or reports with your GP, psychiatrist, NDIS support coordinator, or other members of your care team.

Duty of Care: If we have reason to believe that failure to disclose information would place you or another person at serious and imminent risk of harm.

Legal Requirement: If we are legally compelled to do so, such as by a court subpoena or a mandatory reporting obligation.
